What is TORCH?
TORCH stands for Traditions of Roman Catholic Households. We are a social club for Catholic homeschooling families in San Antonio: a place for children to find friends who share their faith, and for parents to find encouragement. We are not a school or a curriculum. Families remain the first and principal teachers of their children.
Who can join?
Catholic homeschooling families in the San Antonio area. If you are not yet homeschooling but are seriously considering it, you are welcome to write to us.
How do I become a member?
Fill out the short membership form and tell us a little about your family. A member of our team will welcome you and activate your account, and you will then be able to sign in to the Parent Portal.
What is in the Parent Portal?
Members can RSVP to events, join clubs, sign up to volunteer, see the member directory and handbook, and keep their family’s information up to date.
What is First Friday Mass?
Each month we gather for Holy Mass on the first Friday, followed by fellowship. The first Fridays are devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and it is the heart of our community life. See Fellowship for more.
Are events open to everyone?
Most events are for members, so that families can truly know one another. Occasionally we host a public event, and those are marked on the calendar.
How do clubs work?
Clubs are groups for a particular age, interest, or season of life, from book clubs to a Marian tea party. Members join the clubs that fit their family from the Parent Portal. Browse them on the Fellowship page.
Can our family help?
Yes, and we are grateful for it. Members can sign up for volunteer opportunities in the Parent Portal, and families may also propose an event for the calendar.
Do you offer help with costs?
TORCH offers scholarships to help families take part in events and clubs. Members can apply in the Parent Portal, and the board reviews each request with care.
I have another question.
