Our mission & vision
To help Catholic families form their children in wisdom and virtue by keeping them close to the sacraments, the saints, and one another. We exist to make the work of homeschooling less lonely: to give children friends who share their faith, and parents a community that encourages them to teach what is true, good, and beautiful.
What we hold dear
The Mass is the center
Our common life begins at the altar. First Friday Mass is where our families gather and where our friendships are rooted.
Parents are the first teachers
The Church teaches that parents are the first and principal educators of their children. TORCH exists to support them in that vocation, never to replace it.
The family is a domestic church
The home is where children first learn to pray, to love, and to serve. We help one another make our homes places of faith.
Faith and reason belong together
With St. Thomas Aquinas, we hold that truth is one, and that the study of creation leads us to its Creator.
The saints are our friends
We keep feast days, tell the lives of the saints, and ask their intercession for our children.
History of TORCH
TORCH grew out of the simple need every homeschooling family knows: friends for the children, and support for the parents. Our full founding story is being gathered from the families who began it, and will be shared here soon.
